Out of the United Kingdom, Laimis Gruzdys signs with the Chargers of Crandall University where he will play basketball beginning this fall. Laimis is a lights-out shooter who stands at 6’5. He has a high basketball IQ and his length makes it hard for his opponents on both ends of the floor.
Coming into his freshmen season, Laimis will face opportunity and challenges. Playing time could be tough to come by as Crandall’s rosters features a stable of talented wings. At the same time, the Chargers are not returning many consistent starters so minutes should be up for grabs.
In his one season with Global Squad, Laimis was a key part of Team Borzager. He showed off his versatility throughout by playing on the perimeter and defending positions one through four. Laimis stuffed the stat sheet against Philly Aces with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Laimis also helped lead his team to a second-place finish in the Born 2 Ball Tournament.
Laimis joins Carndall after leading his London team to a 10-0 record and the London Youth Games Championship. This winning track record and mindset will make Laimis a real asset for Crandall University.
Congrats, Laimis! Good luck on your new team!
Congratulations Laimis we are so proud of you! Best of luck in the future!
