It’s always interesting to see how teams rebound and react to crushing defeats. In the previous game the Golden Dragons B-team suffered one of the biggest loses in Global Squad history. Instead of hanging their heads and throwing in the towel they came out with an inspired defensive effort against the DC Hoyas.
From start to finish it was a battle for either team to score. The DC Hoyas took a slim 14-12 lead into halftime. After the break though, the Dragons took the lead and seemed to be poised for their first win. Timely three point shooting put the Hoyas ahead with under a minute to go. The Dragons were unable to convert on their possession and were forced to foul. Time ran out with the Dragon narrowly missing their first win of the season.
Despite the loss, the B-team showed tremendous heart and composure following the previous loss. The recent addition of Nasser Al-Rayes also yielded immediate dividends. Nasser had the best game of his Global Squad career. He posted his first double-double by scoring 13 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, blocking 5 shots, and shooting 6-10 from the field.
