2013-2014
Malekai committed to join Carleton College for the 2014-15 academic year. We wish him luck as he begins this new challenge at the next level.

2012-2013
Malekai joined the Global Squad for his 3rd summer. He played in 11 games for Gold Dragons (A) and, once again, put up excellent shooting percentages. He shot 49% from the field, 46% from 3-point range, and 100% from the free-throw line. He finished tied for 3rd in points per game (8.2) and 2nd in assist to turnover ratio. Malekai was named to the All-Global Squad 1st Team and finished his Global Squad career ranked 1st in free-throw percentage (87%) and 2nd in 3-pointers made (50).

Malekai’s outstanding play attracted attention from many D-III coaches. He’s now being recruited by Carleton College, St. Olaf College, and Sarah Lawrence College.

2011-2012
Malekai returned to the Global Squad a drastically improved and stronger player. Malekai appeared in 15 games for Gold Dragons (B) and was lights out shooting the basketball. He shot 47% from the field, 46% from 3-point range, and 86% from the free-throw line. In the game vs Reach 1 Teach 1 Malekai put on a shooting performance that will be tough to top for years to come. He set career best in points (19), went 7-for-7 from the field, 3-for-3 from 3-point range, and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Malekai was named to the All-Global Squad 1st Team, voted on by the coaches.

2010-2011
Malekai joined the Global Squad after his freshmen year at the International School of Beijing. Malekai showed off some impressive individual skills and a high basketball IQ, but he was almost exclusively a spot up jump shooter. Malekai appeared in 23 games for Red Dragons (A), averaging 3.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. Malekai led the team in both 3-point shooting percentage (41%) and free-throw percentage (83%).
