The Golden Dragons A-Team put on an incredible shooting display in their first game of single elimination. The match-up was against STM Raiders but it didn’t seem to matter who they played. The Dragons made 9 of their first 10 shots and jumped out to a 22-7 lead.
It looked to be a runaway game but turnovers and sloppy play allowed the Raiders to cut the lead at halftime, 32-26.
Once the Dragons had a chance to regroup the hot shooting continued. The lead quickly shot up to 15 points and soon nearly reached 30. In the end, the Global Squad won comfortably by 22. The final was 67-45.
Malekai Mischke led all scorers with 14 points. He shot 5-8 from the field and 4-6 from 3-point range. Nikola Maric and Fred Brondsted each had 10 point. Adam Holm-Weber and Bobby Roche dished out 9 and 6 assists respectively. Peter Moller had a solid all-around game with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The team shot 58% from the field and 60% from three. Up next are the Virginia Stars in the semi-finals.
