Gustav Ling, a 6’8 power forward out of Sweden, commits to play for Johnson & Wales University North Miami. Gustav will suit up for the J&W Wildcats after two years with Global Squad and one year at Spire Institute.
Johnson & Wales are excited about the Swedish prospect after finishing 13-and-15 last season. Not only are the Wildcasts adding a talented big-man but they’re adding someone with experience winning at the national level. Gustav’s experience with the Swedish National Team will provide an edge and an opportunity to earn playing time as a freshmen.
Gustav was dominant in his two seasons with Global Squad.
In 2015 he led the team with 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and shot a sizzling 62% from the floor. He racked up points both inside and outside, shooting 42% from three. Gustav’s best game came vs Team Supernatural, Gustav scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and shot 12-for-15 from the field. Gustav also dominated vs The Wood and Largo High School. He had 15 points, 8 boards and 18 points, 7 rebounds respectively.
The following year, Gustav continued his dominant play by helping his team capture the Crossover Hoops Global Squad Championship. Gustav recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds vs NJ Playaz. Against MD 3D he racked up 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Gustav set a high standard for himself as a member of Global Squad. We’re expecting big things as he takes this next step.
Congrats, Gustav! We can’t wait to see you play this year!
